GodblogCon

GodblogCon

Well, it’s been a long time since I’ve last posted. I suspect there may only be one reader - me. Nonetheless, politics, religion, and popular culture topics have fallen off the map for me since I’ve been so busy. However, I felt I needed to post about the annual blogger conference for Christians - GodblogCon.

Although many of us may not be able to attend, I’m sure this information can latch us on to some of the popular bloggers in the Christian community. GodblogCon’s mission is “Calling and equipping all Christians to
engage culture through the new media.” I think we need to be mindful that we can be a light in the darkness.

Feel Good of the Day

This will certainly brighten your day. I usually never get choked up or get chills, except for the occasional sports movie like Field of Dreams, Hoosiers, or Rudy. However, this real life story might beat them all. I think a movie will be made of this one…

Seven by Seven Meme

I’ve been tagged by my friendly adversary, TGirsch, over at Lean Left. I’m glad he didn’t move in a Biblical direction and edit the meme to “Seventy Times Seven.” That would make for much more work than I have time for. Anyway, the basic idea is that I am to answer 7 inquiries with 7 answers each. Tom asks me to answer:

  • Seven things to do before I die
  • Seven things I cannot do
  • Seven things that attract me to (…)
  • Seven things I say most often

Nicolas Cage’s Super Baby

Nicolas Cage's Super Baby

Nicolas Cage is one weird man. From E!Online:

“Nicolas Cage never got to be to Superman. But he apparently has high hopes for his new son.

The Oscar-winning actor and his wife, Alice Kim Cage, welcomed a baby boy, Kal-el Coppola Cage, into the world Monday morning, publicist Annett Wolf announced. The tyke’s unusual moniker also happens to be the birth name of Krypton’s favorite son.

“They are healthy and happy and it’s quite lovely,” Wolf said in a statement.

Cage, an avowed comic book fanboy, was briefly slated to play play Clark Kent in a Tim Burton remake before the project was scrapped to make way for a younger incarnation.”

Those Right-Wingers Killed Me!

Thanks to fellow Marylander Michelle Malkin for the following:

Cory

Corwyn (Cory) William Zimbleman

Tuscon, AZ Classifieds>Obituary (June 21, 2005)

“…An avid atheist, he studied the bible and religion with more fervor than most Christians. He had strong political opinions and followed Amy Goodman’s radio broadcast “Democracy Now.” Alas the stolen election of 2000 and living with right-winged Americans finally brought him to his early demise. Stress from living in this unjust country brought about several heart attacks rendering him disabled…”

Interesting place to spew liberal politics - is nothing sacred? I guess not to Cory. I’m sorry the right-wingers killed you, Cory. May God grant you and your family peace on this day, the day of your memorial service. Oh, wait, I forgot - you were an atheist. I’m not sure now how to express the proper condolences except to say to your family that we are sorry for your loss.
